NETINT appoints Vice President of Business Development

Industry veteran, Ian Jefferson, to drive strategic growth at NETINT

Vancouver, British Columbia, Dec 10, 2019 – NETINT Technologies, an innovator of computational storage and video processing SoC solutions today announced the appointment of Ian Jefferson, as Vice President of Business Development.

At NETINT, Ian Jefferson will drive corporate growth by pursuing strategic opportunities in the Cloud and Edge computing markets.  Mr. Jefferson, a seasoned expert in media transcoding technologies, has held senior leadership roles at NGCodec, Harmonic, IDT-Integrated Device Technology and most recently, Global Head of Video Sales at Xilinx, where he drove their global initiative for deploying video encoding and decoding on FPGAs.

Streaming internet video content is rapidly growing and will continue to dominate internet traffic. Expanding the necessary infrastructure to process this content will be an ongoing challenge for content distributors. In addition, cloud service providers and Content Delivery Network (CDN) operators are increasingly motivated to move video processing closer to the network edge, to save core network bandwidth costs, improve Quality of Experience (QoE), while supporting emerging interactive cloud video application requirements such as cloud gaming, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

NETINT’s Codensity™ video transcoding technology features real-time, highquality, scalable transcoding for live video streaming, enabled through the inherent advantages of ASIC-based encoding. NETINT’s next generation solutions, including the Codensity EdgeFusion E408, which fuses video processing and SSD storage capabilities into a single compact, integrated solution, are uniquely positioned to address the transcoding requirements of content distributors as they adapt to rapidly evolving market requirements.

“Ian’s expertise is instrumental to addressing an emerging inflection point for the industry.  Streaming internet video is experiencing explosive growth and content distributors are reimagining their encoding infrastructures to meet this increased demand”, said Tao Zhong, Chief Executive Officer, NETINT Technologies. NETINT’s Codensity ASIC based transcoding technology is uniquely positioned to meet the evolving demands of content distributors while simultaneously reducing their OPEX and CAPEX compared to other transcoding technologies. These new emerging opportunities combined with Ian’s expertise will drive growth within the organization and we wish him a warm welcome”.
